The league encompasses the southern tier area of Western New York with member clubs in Olean, Jamestown, Falconer, Fredonia, Bemus Point, Randolph and Westfield, along with clubs in the Eden and Springville areas of Erie County, as well as Bradford, PA.
Any and all boys and girls, ages 10 through 17, are provided the opportunity to try out for any league team, irrespective of their home community, but the final decision on roster placement is normally left to the respective coach/club and is based on the players’ skills, knowledge of the game and experience. It is recommended, but not mandatory, that the player have had previous playing experience either in a local recreational league or at the school level.
Normally, the season begins the last weekend of April and concludes the last weekend of June for the younger age groups and the first weekend of July for the older age groups.
Yes, but the decision to participate is normally left to the individual clubs. Some teams elect to participate in area tournaments during the season, while others participate in those at the conclusion of the season.
